Gibraltar to become an LNG bunkering port

Shell has announced its intention to develop small scale LNG facility back in 2016. Today we are witnessing the first safety tests for unloading procedures conducted. Undoubtedly, Gibraltar has a great potential to become an LNG bunkering hub thanks to its geographic location. However, Shell seems to be taking it with a caution installing just 5000m3 of storage. The penetration rate for LNG-fuelled vessels remains uncertain for LNG infrastructure development. More about Gibraltar here.
